popular Nollywood actress who featured in Davido dodo is dead
The Nollywood industry has been thrown into fresh mourning as another actress has been declared dead.
The popular Nollywood actress and video vixen, Joy Ezenobie, was declared dead on the 14th of June, 2019 after a failed fibroid operation. She featured in many soap operas and music videos including Davido’s smash hit, ‘Dodo’.
Joy Ezenobie attended Odofin Secondary school, Mile 2 Lagos. She studied at Lagos State polytechnic and as at her death, worked at National Council for Arts and Cultire, Nigeria.
Her last post on Instagram was posted on May 26, 2019 read: “Someone, please ask for my account number, I need money”. This was obviously a cry for help from Nigerians.
The Nigerian entertainment industry has experienced quite a number of deaths this year. A lot of people have been declared dead in just 6 months. Joy Ezenobie’s death came just days after it was announced that veteran Nollywood actor, Fasasi Olabankewin also known as Dagunro was declared dead.
Dagunro was known for Iboji (2008), Akoni Méfà (2003) and Omo inu oku (2001) amongst others. Fasasi Olabankewin who was inspired by the late Duro Ladipo, started acting before he finished primary 6. This was a great loss for the industry as Fasasi was one of the few veteran actors the industry had left.
The latest demise of Joy Ezenobie has left many Nigerians bothered, especially as this followed the deaths of Fasasi Olabankewin also known as Dagunro, Dammy Eke, Bishop Linchung, Bisket, Abe Ishola Monsurat Olabisi, Gbenga Akintunde, I Show Larry, Funmilayo Ogunwuru aka Ijewuru, Rotimi Alfred Popoola, Tony Anyasodor, Paul Emena, Binta Kofar Soro, Eddie Ugbomah, Toyese Onifade Oloyo and Gbolahan Adio Majester.
We hope these untimely deaths would come to an end soon. May her soul rest in peace.
