Man united ponder lukaku swap deal
All the latest from the continent
The new football campaign is underway when it comes to the pre-season calendar but sides around Europe have plenty of time to prepare for what's to come.
A lot of that comes down to the work in training and improving players ahead of the new season but some of the issues will also be sorted in the boardroom.
Top sides across Europe are looking to strengthen their hand and it's leading to a lot of speculation as agents push for their players to land big-money moves.
It makes for rumours galore and here is the latest round-up from around Europe.
Man United debate Costa/Lukaku swap
As the Romelu Lukaku saga rumbles on, Man United fans have had to deal with constant speculation surrounding the Belgian forward’s likely move to Inter Milan.
However, the Manchester Evening News report that Lukaku could be on his way to Italian champions Juventus in a swap deal that could see Douglas Costa go the other way.
Conflicting reports suggest Costa isn’t keen on a move to United though, with the Brazilian winger keen on staying with Juve, especially after his impressive pre-season.
Despite this, the Old Lady are reportedly working hard to bring Lukaku to Turin, so a swap deal could in fact be on the cards if they are that desperate to secure the striker’s signature.
A swap deal for Paulo Dybala has also been touted, much to the dismay and confusion of Tottenham fans.
Nsoki keen on Newcastle switch
PSG defender Stanley Nsoki is reportedly impressed with the Newcastle project and is keen on a move to St James Park.
The Newcastle Chronicle claim the 20-year-old is after more game time, after making only eight appearances for PSG last term, and could try to deal an £8 million switch to the Premier League.
According to sources, the Magpies tried to get this deal over the line last summer under Rafael Benitez but couldn't due to unforeseen circumstances - now, the deal could be resumed and United could have much needed defensive backup.
Wolves sign Real Madrid defender on loan
Wolves have confirmed the signing of Spain U21 centre-half Jesus Vallejo on a season-long loan deal. Vallejo, who captained Spain’s U21 side to the European Championships in early July, underwent a medical on Thursday and watched on as his new side beat Crusaders in the Europa League.
The former Real Zaragoza defender brings a mix of youth and experience to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, having went on loan spells back to Zaragoza and Eintracht Frankfurt - he even scored for Real Madrid last season in a win over Villarreal.
Wolves chase AC Milan striker
Staying with Wolves, and things could get even more exciting with the rumoured interest in AC Milan forward Patrick Cutrone.
Cutrone, who graduated from Milan’s famous academy setup, is thought to be on the radar to provide back up for star forward Raul Jimenez.
According to Birmingham Live, Wolves are on the verge of agreeing a £16 million deal for the striker, but reports suggest he is assessing his options before making a decision.
