Making your professional debut as a footballer, facing Manchester United and with your Dad watching on from the touchline. It's the stuff dreams are made of.

It's a shame, like for Noah, that his Dad is the manager of the opposition team.

Teenager Noah Solskjaer made his first steps as a professional footballer on Tuesday, coming on as a substitute for Norweign side Kristiansund as they took on United in a friendly.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, his father, was watching on from the visiting dugout with youngest son Elijah. When asked ahead of kick-off about his son scoring, Solskjaer said: "Well done to him but we’ll do as much as we can to stop him."

Fair. He added: "Of course, it’s special for him that he’s been training with the first team for the last couple of weeks, he’s just been promoted.

"He’s had a tough couple of years with operations so he’s getting there."

Noah, who has credited Michael Carrick as one of his role model's, has made 13 appearances for Kristiansund's reserve team and was now deemed good enough for the first team.

"While his father was more effective the closer he came to the box, Noah is more the one who sets up the attacks," Kristiansund coach Christian Michelsen to TV2.

"He has lots of skills and football understanding - Noah has gone to a good school. He and several of these youngsters have been with us for a while.

"We knew they were good football players, but what is fun is that we see that they are taking the level more and more. It's great for them and fun for us to see them grow well."
