Maguire says he is ready to make his debut against Chelsea

Harry Maguire insists he's ready to make his Manchester United debut against Chelsea this Sunday.

The defender become the world's most expensive defender on Monday when he joined United from Leicester.

And Maguire wants to be picked for Sunday's mouthwatering Premier League opener.

He told the United app: "I tend to get my head down – I've worked hard, I've done every session and I've played every game for Leicester so my fitness is there.

"That was a big part for me to play because if I ended up getting the move that I wanted, I would have been fit and in contention to play the first game.

"I feel like I'm ready to go, but obviously it is the gaffer's decision."
