Juventus includes mandzukic in swap deal

Paulo Dybala could find himself with a familiar face at Manchester United next season as reports in Italy suggest Juventusare prepared to include Mario Mandzukic in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian striker, who appeared ready for a switch to Inter Milan, looks ready to leave United this summer and the two clubs have opened talks about a deal to get him to Turin.

But according to Tuttomercatoweb and Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus appear keen to include 33-year-old striker Mandzukic in any deal, rather than include cash to get Lukaku.

Mandzukic has been a staple of Juventus' squad since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2015 but would find himself marginalised if Lukaku arrived.

The Croatian international is set to see his minutes significantly reduced under the stewardship of Maurizio Sarri and at 33, his value is diminishing.

Gonzalo Higuain, back at the club following his disappointing loan spell at Chelsea, has been heavily used in pre-season and is expected to play a bigger role than Mandzukic at the Allianz Stadium this season.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to be drawn on talk of Dybala following a pre-season win over Kristiansund in Oslo on Tuesday.

Asked after the 1-0 win in Norway, Solskjaer said: 'I'm not here to talk about any rumours or speculation about other team's players. But, of course, we're working on one or two cases.

'There's another 10 days before we start the league and hopefully we can announce a fresh face or two.

'Rom got injured and it was best for him to stay home. He wouldn't have been able to play.

'Hopefully he might be able to train in the next couple of days, let's see what happens. You never know what happens in football.'
